About our concrete contractor business in Willmar
Willmar Concrete is a concrete contractor based in Willmar, pouring driveways, patios, steps, garage floors and foundations for homeowners and property owners in Willmar, Litchfield and the cities around them. I'm the owner, and I want you to know exactly what you're paying for before you sign.

How I came to run a concrete company in Willmar
I started on the sales side of the concrete business, quoting jobs and talking with homeowners about their driveways and patios. Over time I moved into forming and finishing the work myself, and in 2023 I opened Willmar Concrete here in Willmar.
Those years in sales taught me that a clear quote matters as much as the concrete itself. If you can't tell what a bid includes, you can't fairly compare it with another one, so I spell ours out before anyone signs.
Our winters ask a lot of a slab. January nights here average just a few degrees above zero, with about 46 inches of snow a year, so I put the budget into the subgrade, the packed base the slab sits on, before any fancy finish. Nobody sees that part on day one, but it decides whether the concrete holds up and stays something I'm glad to put our name on.
What you can count on when we take your job
These are the things you'll notice when you hire us, from the first estimate to the last walk across the new concrete. Each one comes from how I learned this business.
An estimate you can compare
You get a written estimate that spells out what's included and what isn't, like the base work, the slab thickness and the cleanup. That way you can set our bid next to anyone else's and see where the numbers differ, instead of guessing what a lower price leaves out.
The owner stays on your job
I come out to look at your job, write the estimate myself and stay with it through the final walk-through. Our crew does the forming, pouring and finishing, and I check the work on site, so the person who quoted the job is the one who checks it.
A pour date set by the weather
We set the pour date by the ground and the forecast, not the calendar. Fresh concrete needs a fair start while it cures, which is the stretch when it hardens and gains strength, so we'd rather move a date than pour on frozen ground or into a bad forecast.
Straight talk about other trades
When part of a job needs an engineer or another trade, like a footing question or a wall that holds back soil, we'll tell you plainly before work starts. It's much easier to plan for that at the estimate than to find out once the forms are up.
Licensing and insurance for concrete work in Minnesota
In Minnesota, a contractor hired directly by the owner of a one- to four-unit home needs a residential building contractor or remodeler license for work in more than one special skill. Willmar Concrete is licensed and insured.

We reply to calls and messages within one business day.
How your concrete job goes from first call to finish
Here's what happens from your first call to the day you walk out on the finished slab. Each step has a reason, and I'll explain it before asking you to decide anything.
You call or send the form
Call (320) 419-1056 or send a request through our contact page, and tell us what you have in mind and where the job is. We reply to calls and messages within one business day, and we'll set a time for me to come out and look.
I look and write the estimate
I come to your place, look at the ground, where the water runs and what's there now, and answer your questions. The estimate is free, done on site and comes with no obligation, and it shows what's included and what isn't so you can compare it with other bids.
We check permits and pick a date
Before we schedule, we check with the city or county office about what your job requires, and when a permit applies we take care of the paperwork and inspections. Then we pick a pour date by the ground and the forecast, and we keep you informed if the weather moves it.
We pour, finish and walk through
Our crew forms, pours and finishes the concrete, and I check the work on site. When it's done we walk it together, and I'll explain how long the slab needs to cure before you walk or drive on it, so you know when it's ready to use.
